August 8, 2008 - CITIZEN INPUT SOUGHT ON PROPOSED RULES
FOR MANAGING CONSTRUCTION ON THE LAKE ERIE COAST
Informational meetings scheduled for September at three locations along the shoreline

SANDUSKY, OH - Citizens with an interest in the future of the Lake Erie coast and how shoreline construction projects are handled are encouraged to express their opinions at a series of public informational meetings set for September on the coastline.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Office of Coastal Management is sponsoring the meetings to solicit input on proposed Ohio Administrative Code rules for managing construction and improvements along the shore. The rules reflect a new policy for managing the state’s coastal lands that was announced by Governor Ted Strickland on July 13, 2007.
