Anticipation… First Fishing Day of the Season

Spring has sprung in Ohio. What’s your Spring fishing style? Have you been out there since our first nice day back in February? Or are you just starting to think about your first time out? Whether you are a once in a while weekend angler or a tried and true tournament team member, the fishing season is upon us in Ohio.
I have seen many anglers sitting by the shorelines of Portage Lakes and driving by in their boats. I watched with envy, as our own equipment is still in the rafters with tackle boxes strewn about the garage. There is always that ONE DAY where the fever kicks in, and you REALLY wish you had started getting your stuff together earlier.
The sun has been glinting off of the water, calling my name. Sunny, 50 degree days have my soul yearning to be standing on the back deck of the boat, feeling my spinnerbait thumping at the end of my rod. We are shopping for trophies for our tournament trail. All systems are in full tilt to get our season started soon.
We hope you are all out there either talking about your first fish or planning where you are going to catch it. We look forward to sharing another wonderful season of casting and catching on Ohio’s beautiful lakes in 2023!
