The End To A Good Fishing Season

Well, that’s a wrap on our 2022 fishing season! We took the boat out on Portage Lakes for the last time on Thursday. 😭😭 Caught a bunch of little bass, and one lunker that got our hearts beating!

We had a great season of catching, both for fun and tournament fishing. We got to fish at Portage Lakes, Lake Milton, Mosquito Lake, West Branch, Mogadore Reservoir, Deer Creek Reservoir, Nimisila Reservoir, Long Lake, Chautauqua Lake (NY), and Mentor Lagoons (Lake Erie).

My husband caught a 17″ Fish Ohio crappie. We caught bass of all kinds, perch & catfish. Together we caught more 4 – 6 lb. bass this year then we ever have in 18 years fishing together.

Thank you, Ohio for providing us with such an abundance of fabulous fisheries! I feel blessed to be 30 – 45 minutes away from a dozen or more lakes and reservoirs. We are already planning and looking forward to our 2023 season!

There is still plenty of fishing happening in Ohio currently! The walleye Fall Brawl continues through November. Water temps will be warm enough for pan fishing and bass fishing for weeks. We will keep you posted on any tournaments that pop up on the fly.

We’ll keep you up on all of the fishing and boat shows that kick off the New Year, as well as info on ice fishing, tackle reviews and rigging, and some great information and tips we learned this year
