Mogadore Reservoir Bass Fishing Report 5.11.22

Mogadore May 12

We had a chance to sneak out for a few hours, and chose to do some electric motor only fishing at Mogadore Reservoir. It was a picture perfect day – blue skies, warm temps @ 80 degrees and a light breeze. Many others had the same idea – the parking lots and shorelines were dotted with anglers of all kinds! This is by far the warmest water we have seen this year. We saw 62 – 68 degree water at Mogadore. That is TEN degrees warmer than the 55 – 58 degree water we saw at Lake Milton on Saturday!  The water was pretty clear and had nice vegetation.

We saw a lot of top water activity, with fish popping everywhere, but could not get a bite on a top water buzzbait, or walking bait. Its was crankbaits in shad color and fire tiger jerk baits they wanted to eat. No luck with a spinnerbait even though I had perfect water to cast it in. We had many bites, but small fish.

Mogadore Reservoir looks healthy and alive with wildlife. We saw turtles, muskrats, huge shad and plenty of young bass. If you are a shoreline angler, Mogadore is very accommodating has a path you can walk around the lake to fish different spots. Its a great lake for kayaks & canoes as well. The improved ramp on Ticknor Rd has a concrete launch and dock, with ample shallow shoreline to launch your kayak and canoe too. Mogadore is always a favorite choice of ours for a few hours of fun.
