Well, November in Ohio means one thing – our days spent on the boat are dwindling. Yesterday, however, was a BEAUTIFUL mile high blue sky, breezy day to spend out on Mogadore Reservoir. She never disappoints, and yesterday was no exception! The 53 – 55 degree water was a bit stained lime green, and what little weeds there were, were dying off. Our first fish was caught just off the edge of some timber lay-downs, in about 3 feet of water, and this is where we found them all day. The lure of the day was DEFINITELY spinner baits – of all kinds. I used one with 3 silver willow blades and my partner was using a bait ball style spinner bait. Tried catching them on swimbaits, deep crankbaits, and worms to no avail. All fish were quality, 1.5 – 2.5 lb. large mouth bass. They were very pale compared to summer waters, but still chasing and active. If you are looking to get some bass fishing in over the next few nice days, we are giving Mogadore a two thumbs up. Go and have yourself a fun fish catching day!
