Lake Info & State Management
Pymatuning Lake is in Ashtabula County. This big lake covers 14,650 acres of waters with 77 miles of shoreline. The Ohio section of the lake is within Ohio Division of Wildlife District Three.
Location ~ Pymatuning Lake straddles the Ohio/Pennsylvania border. The Ohio side is in Ashtabula County approximately 30 miles north of Youngstown and 50 miles east of Cleveland. State Route 85/285 bisects the lake with State Route 322 to the south and State Route 6 to the north.
Distance from Major Cities ~ Approximately 30 miles north of Youngstown. Approximately 50 miles east of Cleveland. Approximately 65 miles northeast of Akron.
Fishing Opportunities ~ Pymatuning Lake fishing opportunities include *Walleyes *Muskellunge *Yellow Perch *Crappies *Catfish *Bluegills *Largemouth Bass *White Bass.
Boating Information, There is a 10-hp limit on Pymatuning Lake. There are five improved launch ramps ion the Ohio side of the lake. The lake also has four large marinas at which boats are rented. Other amenities around the lake include two state campgrounds ~ private campgrounds ~ cabin rentals. *** You may fish the entire lake from a boat with only an Ohio fishing license. If you fish from shore or from an island on the Pennsylvania side you MUST have a PA fishing license.***
The Ohio Division of Wildlife activities include monitoring fish population ~ stocking ~ creel studies ~ water quality analysis.

Lake Erie Bass Fishing Report – Black River
