Lake Info & State Management
Van Buren Lake is in Hancock County. This tiny lake covers 53 acres of fishing water and has 2 miles of shoreline. This lake is in Ohio Division of Wildlife District Two(2).
Location – Van Buren Lake is located in northern Hancock County. It is approximately eight miles north of Findlay and one mile east of I-75 off of State Route 613.
Approximately 8 miles north of Findlay. Approximately 40 miles south of Toledo. Approximately 35 miles northeast of Lima.
Van Buren Lake supports; *Largemouth Bass *Bluegill *Crappies *Bullheads.
There is an electric motors only restriction on Van Buren Lake. A single lane boat ramp is on the north side.
The Ohio Division of Wildlife activities include ~ monitoring fish populations ~ physical and chemical water quality analysis.

The top three places of the 2025 Lake Erie Walleye Fall Brawl have been verified and announced. Congratulations to Jay Gullet, winner of a 2026 Ranger 622 FS! He weighed an 11.59#, 29.5″ walleye November 20th. Some wild weather during the last week probably had him biting his nails up to the end. Second place winner

First priority will be given to United States Veterans who have received a Purple Heart and First Responders (Police, Fire, EMS) who have been injured in the line of duty. All meals and lodging will be provided during the event.
