Lake Info & State Management

Seneca Lake is found in Guernsey and Noble Counties. The lake covers 3550 acres of water and 47 miles of shoreline. It lies within Ohio Division of Wildlife District Four(4).

Location ~ Seneca Lake is located in eastern Ohio – mostly in Noble County with a small northern section in Guernsey County. The dam is located 2 miles east of Senecaville on State Route 313 and 12 miles southeast of Cambridge via Interstate 77 and State Route 313.

Distance from Major Cities ~ Approximately 110 miles south of Cleveland. Approximately 80 miles east of Columbus. Approximately 30 miles west of the Ohio/WV border.

Fishing Opportunities ~ Seneca Lake anglers can hook into the following species; *Largemouth Bass *Bluegill *White and Black Crappies *Walleye *Channel Catfish *Bullheads. The lake has also been stocked with *Muskellunge and *White Bass with moderate success.

Boating Information ~ There is a 399-hp limit restriction on Seneca Lake. Two boat ramps are located on the northwest side of the lake off of State Route 313. The full service marina offers boat rentals and has a nearby restaurant.

The Division of Wildlife activities include ~ stocking ~ installing fish structures ~ monitoring fish populations ~ creel studies ~ water quality analysis.
